The Teacher
I have a Master’s Degree in Education (M. Ed). My education has provided me with a clear insight into what is happening in school from a teacher’s perspective. This is important to developing working relationships that benefit your child. I have the education and background to understand what has to happen in school in order for a child to learn and grow academically.
I am also a Certified Structured Literacy* Dyslexia Specialist (IDA). I currently serve clients who receive reading instruction through an online program supported by Lexercise®***. As a clinician I see first-hand how explicit reading instruction can benefit a student who needs explicit, direct, systematic, and cumulative programming in order to access their education.
The Attorney
I have a Juris Doctor (JD) and practiced law for many years. My experience as an attorney is ingrained in everything I do. It can’t be helped. Although I do not represent families as legal counsel in special needs matters, my legal skills are rooted in my work product so parents still gain the benefit of my experience without the high legal fees. I have the skills needed to successfully address your child’s needs.
The Advocate
I have over ten years of experience in special needs consultation for families in many different school districts in and around the Philadelphia area. I have also consulted with families in other states (including one military family living on base located out of the country). I have the experience needed to help families seeking special education support for your child.
The Parent
I came to educational advocacy organically by helping my own child. I am first and foremost a mom, who has lived through this process personally. I learned through trial and error how to help my child learn. I have the knowledge of what it takes to help your child receive the supports they need to make academic progress.
